The gas rationing system is extended in New York City by Mayor Michael Bloomberg through the means of the Thanksgiving holiday.

It was announced last Sunday that the odd-even license plate system would be effective through Friday.

The gas rationing was in effect on November 9 in the city in the wake of the Superstorm Sandy.
