Burlco is anticipated to OK road developments

It was announced this week that the road projects which cause a worth of $7.7 million are expected to be approved by the Burlington County Freeholders. The said road developments are projects for the 14 municipalities.

The road developments would overlap 16 roads of the respective counties wherein the total length is 21.4 miles.

According to the officials, the annual New Jersey Transportation Trust Fund would encompass the $4.5 worth of the project while the rest will be covered by the county.

It is expected for the freeholders to give permission to the advertising for offers at their meeting this coming October 24.

Joseph Donnelly, the Freeholder Deputy Director, detailed that when the road developments are finished, in the last four years they will have enhanced the safety issues for the general motoring masses on the 66 roads of the county for an overall of over and above 112 miles.

Donnelly added that this advantage is a necessity in preserving the roads of the county in order to enhance and improve the major modernization of the roads if they are left in bad condition.

Among the roadways being overlayed during the projects:

• Nearly three miles of Riverton Road, from Route 130 in Cinnaminson to Bridgeboro Road in Moorestown.

• Two miles of Camden Avenue/Main Street from the Maple Shade boundary with Camden County to Lenola Road in Moorestown.

• A little more than one mile of Church Road in Mount Laurel from Route 73 to Church Street, as well as a half mile of Church Road in Mount Laurel from Springdale Road to Route 73.

• In Mount Holly, 1.1 miles of Rancocas Road from Lambert Drive to High Street, and a small section of King Street from Marne Highway to Rancocas Road.
