Arts Organizations Received Funding

Last Tuesday, the arts organizations in New Jersey were very fortunate to receive more than $15.7 million from the state Council on the Arts, about the same as last year.

Some $1.4 million, or roughly about 11 proportionality of state arts finance, went to groups in the tri-county part. Contributions amount to about $909,000 in City County, $477,400 in Camden County and $58,000 in Gloucester County.

The largely money for the tri-county region let fall very nearly $59,000 from year 2011.The  Camden County acquired the largest smash, with backing down around $35,600.

Among the recipients, grants went to Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts, Symphony in C and Perkins Center for the Arts. Subsidy also passes on to umbrella arts crowds, such as the South Jersey Cultural Alliance and the ArtPride New Jersey.

The leading receivers in South Jersey were Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center, Millville, which got more or less $536,000, and Appel Farm Arts & Music Center in Elmer, which received $356,420.

  • Arati Gupta: $3,000 for a folk arts apprenticeship in henna painting
  • Mainstage Center for the Arts: $27,777
  • Ritz Theatre: $58,390
  • Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts: $163,500 for general programs, $12,750 for arts-ed special initiatives
  • Symphony in C: $133,026 for general operating costs, $12,000 for staffing assistance
  • ArtPride New Jersey Foundation: $500,522 for Discover Jersey Arts; $63,400 for N.J. Arts Education Partnership; $49,128 for Arts Plan NJ
  • Burlington County Division of Cultural Affairs & Tourism: $80,842 for local arts programs
  • Perkins Center for the Arts: $132,126 for general operating support; $56,118 for Camden Area Artists in Education; $26,838 for Delaware Valley Folklife Program;

Gloucester County Cultural & Heritage Commission: $57,801 for local arts programs
