$24,000 Green Acres Grant Issued To Petty’s Island

Petty’s Island was issued with a $24,000 Green Acres Grant in Pennsauken last Thursday to sponsor a scenic hiking trail project.

The Christie Administration has permitted nearly $2.2 million in grants for projects that will improve and mend unreceptive and motorized trails across the state, Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin said.

A percentage of the aid is anticipated to be set to the New Jersey Natural Lands Trust for trail development on Petty’s Island, to be found in the Delaware River along Pennsauken and Camden.

The $24,000 grant will produce 4.5 miles of trails with interactive exhibits.
